Virtual Choir 4: Bliss

For those who have followed the Virtual Choir from its earliest days, it is gratifying to see what it has become. As it has grown, putting it together has become much more of a production. So for those of you who don’t think they can sing, you can now participate in another way.

This time around, the production costs are going to be handled through Kickstarter. If you aren’t familiar with Kickstarter, it is a crowd-sourcing website originally put together to support artistic works (though it has grown significantly since then). Their Best of Kickstarter 2012 is an impressive litany of people helping dreams come true. Here are just the raw numbers:

In 2012
2,241,475 people
pledged a total of
$319,786,629
and successfully funded
18,109 projects

Eric Whitacre’s project is just one of many for this new year.
